MS Word Test

Well, as an attempt to practice with MS Word 7, I am posting this practice blog. This new version of MS Word has the ability to post to my blog account, so I thought, why not give it a try? There's no telling how it will come out, but I know that I do like MS Word.

Here goes…..

Relatives?

Look carefully at these two pictures. It seems to me that there is a peculiar similarity here. If you are wondering what that is, just look carefully at the nostrils. I think they may be related!

Bon Voyage Daisy!

My Sea-Doo has a proud new owner, and it's not Kayla the cat who you see sitting on "Daisy" here! Tonight (July 30, 2009), she was towed out of the driveway to her new home. It marks the end of an era, and many fun adventures were had frollicking on her padded seat. Lake Milo, Yarmouth Harbour, the Cheboque River, the East River in Pictou, have all provided stomping grounds for this high speed watercraft. So it is with fond memories I bid adieu to "Daisy" Sea-Doo, and wish her and her new owner all the best!

Wharf Rat Fever!!!

Here is just a small sample of what can be seen at the Wharf Rat Motorcycle Rally in Digby every year. This annual event has grown in popularity every year and has proven very entertaining even for people like me who don't even own a motorcycle. Thousands of people attend every year. Motels in Digby are booked a year in advance for this event! To think that Yarmouth missed out on this event when it first started. The town of Digby had the foresight to see the potential spinnoff to their economy. It brings in thousands of tourism dollars!
Yarmouth, you missed out on a good thing

Starlink Airlines

This blog is a plug for our new local air service here in Yarmouth, providing daily weekday service between Halifax, Yarmouth, and Portland, Maine. Having used the service twice so far, I can vouch for the good service and comfortable flight.
The price is reasonable as well, especially if you book in advance! We are lucky to have this important transportation link, but the community needs to support it. Come on gang...use it or lose it! To book a flight with Starlink, go to

Let the Games Begin!

Saturday, May 31st, 2008, will be an historic day! For the first time in history, I will be perched in a dunking booth waiting to be drenched! All for a good cause - to help raise money for the Yarmouth Fire Department Auxiliary. This is all part of the Auxiliary's fun day at the Yarmouth Fire Hall. Other firefighters will be taking a turn on the booth as well, so come out and have a shot at dunking us!
There will be food, face painting for the kids and kids at heart, and an overall fun time.
See you there!!!

So I'm Done with the Kite (for now)!

Yes, I'm finished flying that kite (for now). So now what do I write about? Well, my bike is the shop with a flat tire. Speaking of bikes, last weekend I tired poor Jessica out by riding too far on the old tracks with her...poor girl! I think we both slept well that night though! Also, we are hoping to get an old bike we rescued from the spring junk pick up road worthy for Sheila so that she can join Jessica and I on our excursions.
